Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Use of Service
CartTally is a meal planning service provided by BlakeTech NZ, operating “In Trade” under New Zealand law. By using CartTally, you agree to these terms. CartTally is currently a private alpha product, so the service may change as we learn from early users.
2. Account & Information Responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for entering information carefully, including allergies, intolerances, dietary preferences, dislikes, pantry items, budgets, preferred store, and shopping details. CartTally uses the information you provide to help organise meal plans and shopping lists, so incomplete or out-of-date information may affect the usefulness of the service.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse CartTally. This includes:
- attempting to access another person's account or data;
- interfering with the service, security controls, or infrastructure;
- using CartTally for unlawful, harmful, misleading, or abusive activity;
- copying, scraping, or reverse engineering the service except where the law allows it;
- submitting content that infringes another person's rights.
4. Meal Plans, Allergies & Grocery Estimates
CartTally is a planning tool. Meal plans, shopping lists, pantry suggestions, and grocery totals are directional alpha estimates, not checkout totals or guarantees. Grocery prices may differ by store, region, date, promotion, product availability, substitution, pack size, delivery fee, and checkout conditions. Some items may have no price estimate or may use nearby-store fallback pricing.
CartTally is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, or food safety service. You must check product labels, ingredients, substitutions, and preparation steps yourself, especially where allergies, intolerances, or dietary needs matter. If you need medical or dietary advice, speak with a qualified professional.
5. User-Entered Information
You keep ownership of information you enter into CartTally. You give us permission to use that information to provide, maintain, protect, and improve CartTally, and to respond to support or privacy requests. Please do not enter information you do not have the right to provide.
6. Feedback
We welcome feedback during the private alpha. If you share ideas, comments, bug reports, or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve CartTally without owing you payment or creating any obligation to build a particular feature.
7. Service Availability & Changes
CartTally is early access software. Features may be incomplete, unavailable, changed, paused, or removed. We will try to provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, exact grocery prices, checkout-accurate totals, supermarket integrations, or availability of any specific feature.
8. Paid Plans
CartTally may show alpha plan status, trial status, or future Premium feature controls, including a free Premium trial when you opt in to those controls. Paid subscriptions and Stripe payments are not currently active in the private alpha, and CartTally does not collect card details. If/when paid plans are introduced later, we will provide pricing, billing, cancellation, and renewal terms at the time of subscription.
9. Consumer Rights & Liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act, Fair Trading Act, or other non-waivable New Zealand laws. To the extent the law allows, CartTally and BlakeTech NZ are not liable for indirect loss, loss caused by information you enter incorrectly, or decisions you make based on directional planning information. Where we are responsible for a problem, our responsibility will be assessed fairly in light of the service, the private alpha stage, and applicable law.
10. Suspension or Restriction
We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe an account is being misused, creates security or reliability risk, breaches these terms, or may cause harm to CartTally, other users, or third parties.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
